Saadoun calls on the government to work customs tariff

Baghdad {: News} Euphrates confirmed head of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives former former deputy Alaa al-Sadoun said customs is one of the sources of revenue for the state of covering the expenses.
Sadoun said in a press statement received by the Euphrates {News} a copy of it on Tuesday that "the customs aimed at the same time to make the prices of local products to compete with the prices of which come from abroad and this is what helps to protect the local product."
It added that "there is no tariff Kmarkip in Iraq, or rather stop working after it approved by the Iraqi Council of Representatives at the first session to make the Iraqi domestic product at a foreign competitor's product did not provide the necessary protection provided by all countries on their products."
Sadoun stressed the need for the "Iraqi government to operate customs tariff in all areas, particularly the agricultural field."
She explained that "the Iraqi farmer cultivated his goods, but more expensive than imported goods, which led to moving consumer goods toward foreign goods and leave Iraq." Concluded M.
