Member: Economic Commission will submit a bill to postpone the work after the holiday customs tariff legislative

Baghdad (news) .. MP and a member / representative of the Economic Commission / Abbas Hammoud, the Xiaa / hoped that the Committee shall submit a proposal after the holiday legislative bill to wait for the application of customs tariffs on goods coming into Iraq.
He said the Xiaa (of the Agency news) said on Monday: "I arrived several proposals to the Commission the laws of the executive branch, the most prominent (the law to postpone the application of customs tariffs for goods imported into Iraq).
He said from the legal aspect of it must apply the law of customs tariffs since last March, but that the cabinet felt to wait out and extend the period of application of tariff law to some other date, which requires passing a law to do so, noting that: "the Committee had received this law and will be uploaded to the presidency Parliament no objection in the application of this law, in addition to a paragraph granting authority to the Council of Ministers choose the appropriate time to start applying the law of customs tariffs on goods. "
And between the Xiaa: "The law of customs tariff in place in all over the world because these countries can not protect the product and local consumer and the private sector unless there has such a law, it is not reasonable, and that up goods from outside the country without Customs, making it therefore characterized by cheap price for the goods produced locally in spite of the latter is much better than them.
It was hoped to begin work the law of customs tariff in ran past, and the Iraqi government is counting on the new law that will protect the local product and encourage local industry and add a new source to the state treasury, where the law was prepared according to serious studies, of the reality of the lives of Iraqi citizens and their needs, and rates of customs tariff, calculated according to the nature of the materials and goods covered by the tariff, and will not impose high duties on imported materials involved in the development of industrial and agricultural production, as well as food and basic interest of the citizen, in the time that would impose higher fees on luxury goods. / Finished / (5 . n. r)
