Al-Iraqiya Bloc's leader Iyad Allawi called on Premier Nouri al-Maliki, in person, to implement the Erbil agreement, noting that otherwise the government is "illegal."
In an interview with Sumaria TV, he added that "we were the first to respond to President Jalal Talabani's initiative to hold the National Conference, as well as that of Kurdish President Massoud Barzani." He pointed out that three issues remained unsolved, namely those of "vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi, deputy premier Saleh al-Mutlaq, and the detainees in Iraqi prisons."
"Three months have now passed, and nothing has been done on these points; hence we said we will not attend if the Conference if it is held after the Arab League Summit," he elaborated.
