Under the auspices of Dr. Khairallah Hassan Babiker, Minister of Commerce held a Department of the World Trade Organization, Ministry of Commerce educational seminar at the Ministry of Oil on Iraq's accession to the WTO under the supervision of the Director General of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations Hashim Mohammed Hatem addressed the idea of spreading awareness of Iraq's accession to the World Trade Organization WTO.
The attendees at the seminar explained Mujzaan created the World Trade Organization, and the deity of the Organization, and principles, and the overall objective and expand trade liberalization and increased production, and optimal use of global resources, and ensure that developing countries, especially least developed countries a significant share of the growth in international trade.
And Oadho that the mechanism of accession to the WTO through the establishment of the state to apply to join and which displays at the meeting of the General Council of the organization where it is voted on in the organization and unanimously and Juba of all Members upon acceptance of that application is hereby granted the state observer status in the organization, and then begin the process of preparing for the requirements of accession, and to identify the team and team leader and through which will follow the stages of the accession of the State, through the provision of Memorandum of Foreign Trade Regime of the country MFTR (ACC1) and is distributed MFTR to the members of the organization to give their comments and questions around the questions would be submitted her through the Secretariat of the Organization which begin to answer After studying the questions answers by holding periodic meetings of team work and at the same time offer to join files.
For their part, praised the General Managers in the Ministry of Oil interest and patronage of the Minister of Commerce the subject of their own importance in Iraq out of its isolation in which he lived during the past period and keep pace with progress in the world joining the organization he has put his foot in the beginning of the road for joining in this issue through tours of the first in 2004 and the second in 2008 and is expected to be the end of the third round this year.
As presented in the seminar many questions by the audience of general managers and experts in this area for the purpose of clarification on the findings of the Iraq of the steps to join.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Commerce had held similar events in the ministries and government sectors, private and provincial councils during previous periods of this year under a plan the Department of Foreign Economic Relations, in coordination and cooperation with these authorities, including the Ministries of Planning and Transportation Foreign Affairs and the Customs General, communications, culture, science and technology and financial resources in In Anbar, Diwaniyah provinces and will continue to hold seminars in Baghdad and the provinces.
