Baghdad (AIN) –The Iraqi Foreign Affairs Ministry handed the State of Kuwait some of its belongings that were confiscated by the former regime during its invasion in 1990.
A statement by the FM received by the All Iraq News Agency (AIN) on Thursday “According to the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the efforts of the Ministry to conclude the file of the Kuwaiti properties which were confiscated by the former regime in 1990, the Ministry handed over the Kuwaiti Side at the headquarters of the Central Bank of Kuwait on April 16 Kuwaiti notes and coins as well as documents and keys that belong the CBK, then on April 17 Kuwait received a microfilm for the archive of the Kuwaiti Anba Newspaper at the headquarters of the Kuwaiti Foreign Affairs Ministry.”
“The handing over process was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Kuwait, representative of the UN in the State of Kuwait and different Kuwaiti officials,” the statement concluded. /End/
