I think Maliki is saying put up or shut up, and that he would abandon the position as candidate for the post of Prime Minister in the coming period if they did not put up a suitable replacement. They are talking about the next election.

Vice-Alwani advised the National Alliance to search for an alternative to (MALIKI)
On: Wednesday 5/9/2012 9:29

Baghdad (news) .. advised the MP / coalition in Iraq / Ahmad al-Alwani, the National Alliance to search for a replacement for Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, adding that Maliki will continue to "stalling" and not the implement Arbil.
al-Alwani SAID(of the Agency news): The National Alliance WILL look for a replacement for MALIKI, DUE TO HIS NON implementation OF the Convention on Arbil, which ARE PART OF the demands of ALL the Iraqi people and not the demands of political PARTIES, especially as the picture seemed clear THAT MALIKI HAS NO intention TO implement THE agreements.

He added: Maliki is not serious about resolving all outstanding issues, but the day the House of Representatives DECIDES IN FAVOR OF THE OTHER SIDE (THE 4 IN ERBIL), the executive branch WILL implement AND approve THE AVENUE FOR what WAS agreed upon, and continued TO SAY: the country needs balance NOW IN the political AND governmental ARENAS, BUT IF MALIKI STAYS IN POWER THINGS WILL STAY THE WAY THEY ARE NOW.

The Iraqi MP SAID that Maliki's insistence on the lack of implementation of demands and greater autocracy will CAUSE the political PARTIES to CALL FOR THE REPLACEMENT FOR MALIKI BY THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE, provided that is acceptable to all PARTIES.

The five leaders gave Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki (15) DAYS TO implement of the Convention OF Arbil, and if HE failed TO DO SO IT WOULD LEAD to THE WITHDRAWAL OF confidence from the al-Maliki, and THAT deadline IS THE (17) of the month (MAY). / End / 1. N. R /
