Najaf (AIN) –The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, denied targeting the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, personally through the issue of withdrawing confidence from him.
In response to question by a group of supporters of the Dawa Islamic Party headed by Maliki over targeting Maliki personally by Sadr through his efforts to withdraw confidence from him, Sadr answered "We do not target Maliki rather we target the PM post to enable all Iraqis to participate in building Iraq," noting that "You in the Dawa Islamic Party will remain our brothers whatever disputes to happen between us."
Earlier, Sadr rejected excluding the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the Dawa Islamic Party headed by him if the political sides withdraw confidence from the current government.
The spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated to AIN "We managed to get the required signatures to withdraw confidence from Maliki," noting that "The MPs' signatures were collected from all the blocs."
