Baghdad (NINA) – Lawmaker from Ahrar Parliamentary bloc, Mohammed Ridha al-Khafaji, said that at 10:00 pm President Jalal Talabani, after receiving 176 lawmakers' signatures, will send an official letter to Speaker of Parliament, Usama al-Nijaifi, demanding withdrawing confidence from Maliki's government.
In a statement on Sunday, June 3, Khafaji said that since the number of signatories demanding withdrawing confidence from the government of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has reached 176, Ahrar bloc met to affirm to the Iraqis that its 40 lawmakers voted for withdrawing confidence from Maliki's government.
He added, "The Sadrist Trend began advancing the meeting asserted that sectarian map ruled political blocs in Iraq will be replaced with a national Iraqi map.
"The coming days are going to witness new alliances based on national values not sectarian ones, we are not going to see Sunni or Shi'it or Kurdish alliances, but rather alliances that consist of all political components" Khafaji went on saying.
He added, "In the meeting we affirmed that Kirkuk will remain Iraqi and the Prime Minister will be from the National Alliance. The Kurds and Iraqiya expressed their satisfaction toward this demand."
Khafaji stressed, "Sectarian disputes implanted by imperialists between political forces will disappear." / End.
