Baghdad (NINA) – Spokesperson for Iraqiya slate, Hayder al-Mulla, said that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki is begging the votes of lawmakers to keep his seat.
In a statement to the press on Saturday, June 9, Mulla said that only seven lawmakers from Iraqiya slate visited Maliki on Thursday; only two of them have signed the petition demanding withdrawing confidence from the government, while the remaining five have not signed the demand.
He added that pathetic means such as depending on the Iranian factor and buying others' conscience will not make us but more insistent on withdrawing confidence from Maliki's government, who lost basic principles for building a state as well as vision of real national partnership.
Mulla went on saying that whoever wants to preserve his position, must obtain the peoples' trust and large political blocs, otherwise no state official can preserve his post. / End.
