Barazani, Blinken discuss Iraq's political developments

Baghdad (NINA) – Head of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barazani, discussed with an American delegation headed by Tony Blinken, National Security Advisor to US vice President, Jo Biden, the political situation in Iraq and the area, as well as Iraq's current political crisis.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) reported on Thursday, June 14, that Barazani's meeting with Blinken touched on the ongoing constitutional attempts to rectify the course of Iraq's political process and rule.
In the meeting, Blinken affirmed that his country consider itself a friend of Iraq, including Kurdistan region, and it supports the democratic and constitutional process in Iraq and stands against terrorism, it supports whatever the Iraqis choose within the frames of the Constitution and agreements concluded.
For his part, Barazani pointed out that Iraq's current crisis is caused by not abiding by the Constitution and the agreements concluded between political sides, stressing that keeping the situation as it is not acceptable; the crisis must be solved from its roots within the frames of the Constitution and the agreements. / End.
