Baghdad (AIN) -MP Abdul Hussein Resan al-Husseini, member In the Parliamentary Economic Committee warned from the phenomenon of "expired food items spread in the Iraqi markets that resulted from the continues shutdown of the electricity current which may exacerbate in the coming months."
Husseini added in a statement to AIN Tuesday "We always hear about destroying expired food materials that are discovered in the markets of Baghdad or other provinces, attributing this phenomenon to the constant electricity power outage."
He called on "Those responsible for this topic to intensify control on the border crossings and local markets so as to prevent the spread of this phenomenon."
