Confirmed press reports that the U.S. administration is putting pressure away from the limelight on a number of neighboring countries of Syria in order to accelerate the fall of the regime of Bashar al-Assad, through the exploitation of its relations with its allies in the region to stop shipments of weapons and oil coming from Iran.
He said U.S. officials told the Wall Street Journal said the U.S. efforts aimed at getting Iraq to close its airspace to flights bound from Iran to Syria, which U.S. intelligence agencies suspect that it was carrying weapons to the regular forces of Syria.
The newspaper added that Washington was trying to prevent ships suspected of carrying shipments of arms and oil to Syria from crossing the Suez Canal, noting that one of these vessels, called "Secretary" and is currently awaiting permission to cross the channel owned by a subsidiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping, where officials are U.S. talks with the Egyptian government to prevent the movement of the ship, citing that it does not have to secure an international recognized.
The newspaper added that U.S. intelligence on the movement of Syria to the Turkish and Jordanian forces that deal closely with the opposition fighters.
