WTO holds its next ministerial meeting in Bali

Decided to hold the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in December, the ninth of next year in the Indonesian island of Bali, and that during a meeting of the General Council on the fifth and the twentieth and the twenty-sixth of this month in Geneva.
And declaring Friday a place of this meeting thanked the President of the General Council of the Norwegian Ambassador Ellen Johansen Indonesia for hosting this meeting, which is also said «a clear signal of its commitment to this organization».
Johansen added that the exact date will decide after the summer holidays.
He drew delegates from Indonesia that this ministerial meeting would strengthen the international trade and Ieitha momentum at the height of the global economic crisis.
It would also help to re-launch the negotiations on the Doha agreements, which continued to be affected, which focused on the abolition of obstacles to trade in poor countries, according to Indonesia.
He said the Indonesian delegation in a statement «are still in a crisis threatening the global economy, Indonesia believes that the multilateral trading system can play an important role to promote global trade fair and to support economic growth and eradicate poverty and provide opportunities for work».
In this regard, the next ministerial conference will be «very important to activate the process of negotiations and the progress made so far and to strengthen the multilateral system».
Has launched the Doha Round of multilateral negotiations in 2001 but continued to be affected because of many differences, especially on the reduction of support for agriculture in the European Union and the United States and reduce tariffs on industrial products by emerging powers such as India and China.
The Ministerial Conference is the highest decision body of the WTO and is held approximately every two years. The Eighth Ministerial Conference last December in Geneva.
The World Trade Organization announced Wednesday that Russia will become a formal member the 156 in the second and the twentieth of August next.
As the World Trade Organization will receive two days later, on 24 Apfanwato to become a Member of the 157 in it.
