Almaliki advisor : Khalid Al-Obeidi, the strongest candidate for Defense portfoilo.

Baghdad / NINA / -- Leading member of the state of law, coalitin Adnan al-Sarraj, advisor of PM al-Maliki said the strongest candidate currently for the Ministry of Defence is Khalid al-Obeidi.
Sarraj said in a statement to NINA: " The name of al-Obeidi listed once again with names of candidates recently submitted to the Parliament Speaker including the name of Tawfiq al-Yassiri candidate for the Ministry of the Interior."
Sarraj added: "The National Alliance, refused yesterday to dismantle the Ministry of National Security."
On the issue of ministerial Limbering, Sarraj pointed out there will be partial amendment reducing as a premier step the government to 29 portfolio , then to 24 ministers.
The security ministries are still managed by the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki by proxy.
Obeidi earlier nominated by the Iraqiya slate for defense ministry before annulling his candidacy for undisclosed reasons . / End
