Jalak: Amendment of IHEC Law may solve current crisis

Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Azad Jalak, of the Taghyeer bloc pointed out that "The proposal of increasing the members of the Independent High Electoral Commission which is presented for a vote in the parliament might be the solution for the current crisis and to reduce the criticism for the transparency of the IHEC's performance."
In a statement received by AIN, he called "All the political blocs to reach agreement over the new amendment of the law to ensure more justice concerning representing the women and the minor communities."
He criticized "The policy of some political leaders during the crises and the disputes which aim at gaining more partisan interests by hurdling the endorsement of the crucial laws."
Earlier, the Iraqiya Slate announced that "It will not vote on increasing the members of the IHEC upto 15." /End/
