Parliament discusses 6 agreements to protect foreign investments in Iraq

It pointed out that «agreements protecting foreign investment, and this is evidence of the lack of investor confidence environment Iraqi legal, and the government is now working on an amendment that would replace this kind of agreements and be amended law guarantor of each companies countries and not to the State without the other». And criticized «uniqueness government boots and negotiate and conclude agreements without consulting the parliament, or at least to the committees concerned, what is happening is that the agreements signed initialed or in the form of full and then forwarded to the Parliament for ratification only, and hence the criticisms and reservations and negative points».
And formed the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of a national committee to follow up the implementation of the international agreements to which Iraq joined to or ratified.
The adviser in the Public Service Commissions of the Secretariat of the Council of Minister Abbas Hashim Saadi that the committee formed under his chairmanship and membership of representatives from the Council of State and the National Security Council and three other ministries have read the agreements, and follow up the implementation of the sectoral commitments contained in international agreements to which Iraq or ratified, as well as follow-up of the region or governorates that are not organized in the territory, the commitments approved by the agreements.
And signed Iraq 32 bilateral agreement since 2003, and nine agreements multiple party within the Arab League on the promotion and protection of investment, as well as bilateral agreements for free trade with India, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Mauritania, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Yemen and other countries . The Chairman of the National Investment Commission Sami al-Araji, that the Commission contributed to negotiate on a lot of projects of international agreements on the promotion and protection of investments.
