{Baghdad: Euphrates News} {Khabat newspaper revealed} that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki called to calm the situation between Baghdad and the Kurdistan region, suggesting the Kurdistan administration security file jointly.
The paper points out that al-Maliki sent his deputy, Rose Nuri Shaways to the president of the region in this proposal.
The newspaper quoted Trade Minister Khairallah Babiker said Maliki called during a Cabinet meeting Tuesday to activate the Joint Security Committee consisting of the army and the Peshmerga forces in the disputed areas, which was formed after the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq to manage security in these areas.
