Iraq and the United States reaffirm their commitment to a strategic partnership permanent / Extended /

Baghdad (news) .. confirmed by the Governments of Iraq and the United States of America, on a permanent commitment to a strategic partnership in accordance with the strategic framework agreement.
This came during the second meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee for Defence and Security in Baghdad on the fifth and sixth of the month of December / December.
A statement from the U.S. Embassy received Agency (news) on Thursday: that the meetings held in the headquarters of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, co-chaired by both the Iraqi defense minister and agency Saadoun al-Dulaimi, and Undersecretary of Defense for Political Affairs James Miller, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arms Control and International Security Rose Jotimoalr.
The side cooperation in the field of defense and security is one of the most important areas that have been agreed in the strategic framework agreement signed between the governments of the United States and Iraq in 2008, which aims to enhance cooperation in areas of common interest between the two countries.
The statement added: the American and Iraqi sides discussed efforts to further strengthen cooperation in the field of security between the two countries, and raise the defense capabilities of Iraq and modernize its military forces and to facilitate access to inputs of both countries in the field of regional security.
The two delegations also discussed: training opportunities between the United States and Iraq and Iraq's participation in regional exercises.
The statement noted: that the talks that took place between the two sides, touched to discuss the Foreign Military Sales program strong and growing, which is a symbol of long-term security partnership envisioned by both countries.
The United States expressed: support for the efforts of Iraq in order to meet its needs in the fields of defense and security.
The statement said: that the two delegations reviewed the overall regional security issues, and exchanged views on the conflict in Syria and its implications for regional stability.
He urged the two sides to: the need to put an end to the violence there and support the political transition that represents the will of the Syrian people.

At the conclusion of these meetings, expressed both the United States and the Republic of Iraq for their commitment to hold the third meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee for cooperation in the fields of defense and security in Washington, DC in 2013 in order to continue the talks at the level of security and military cooperation Permanent between the two countries.
The Defense Minister Saadoun Dulaimi agency, announced today, to make a complaint to the U.S. side on the comeback arms deal, saying that the parties had agreed to complete the deal aircraft f16 and complete radar coverage of the country.
Dulaimi said at a press conference attended by the Agency (news) on Thursday: We signed a memorandum of understanding continuation of the strategic agreement, and we discussed a lot of aspects, pointing out that the note will accelerate arming the Iraqi army by America.
He added: We also agreed to complete the deal and F-16 radar coverage for full LAPD, confirming a complaint by the Iraqi side due to administrative red tape that disrupts the process of U.S. armament.
