Twilight News / A source close to the decision-making centers in the province of Kurdistan, on Monday, said Hiro Ibrahim Ahmed, wife of President Jalal Talabani, is the front-runner in succession; to be the first woman to hold this position in the history of Iraq.

The source, who asked not to be identified for " Twilight News ", that" the wife of President Jalal Talabani, Ms. Hiro Khan is the favorite and most acceptable to assume the position of President of the Republic, in the absence of the president for any reason whatsoever from the political scene. "

According to the source, "Ms. Hero Khan enjoys good relations with all parties in Arbil and Baghdad," unlikely "the face of strong reservations on the succession to Talabani."

Currently Talabani presence in Germany and is subject to intensive treatment after suffering a stroke last week.

How will this play out since we know that in Iraqi culture women are not looked at as being in politics by the men. This could be an interesting swing if she gets in not sure how this will play out for the Kurds if they don't respect a woman President.

Will be interesting for sure if that played out. I could see many male Iraqis and politicians rolling over in their graves if that took place. lol!

Would definitly show leaps and bounds of "moving forward" with the times in Iraq.
