The Iraqi government on Wednesday (January 2nd) announced the launch of a programme that will enable innovators and intellectuals to complete their work and research.
"The programme, approved by the Iraqi cabinet on Tuesday, provides Iraqi innovators and intellectuals with regular financial grants, so as to encourage them to proceed with their work," said government spokesperson Ali al-Musawi.
Several government ministries and independent entities have been tasked with collecting the names of Iraqi innovators and intellectuals working on scientific inventions, he told Al-Shorfa.
This group will be responsible for approving these inventions and will begin to implement the government-sponsored programme by next month, he said.
