ERBIL, May 7 (AKnews) - The Iraqi Trade Ministry announced today that about 250 local and foreign businesses were granted licenses last month.
The ministry said in a statement that the companies registering department agreed to issue licenses to 200 companies in April. Licenses were also granted to 42 offices and 11 branches of foreign companies.
The ministry did not specify the nationalities of the businesses nor their areas of work.
Iraq's damaged economy is slowly recovering after years of international isolation and acts of violence. The country still depends on oil revenues for the majority of its income.
