Iraqiya demands its lawmaker to attend Parliament's next session

That works for me. I think they should do that every time & if the person is out of Iraq on business for Iraq than it should also be stated that is why they missed being there. if they are on a self taken Vacation than let them explain why they where not there.
I think our own Government should take note & do the same so we know who not to re-elect.

Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqiya slate demanded all its lawmakers to attend Parliament's upcoming session; it described the session of being historic.

In a statement on Friday, Jan. 4, Iraqiya said that it is going to make public the names of all members who did not attend the session, for the public to know those who do not support the peoples' just cause.

Thanks player and bondlady for the site it came from, one of our mutual members brought this to my attention and pointed me here so I wanted to add my thoughts if that's OK?

There is only one thing that I want to see historic.......and I think all of you know what I mean...

There is something strange going on folks and sometimes you need to step back to see what is going on....

*** make public the names of all members

*** who did not attend the session,

*** for the public to know

*** those who do not support the peoples' just cause.

Folks I could be wrong but this is the only way how, they can insure that every member attends the session.....this is the way this culture rolls, as my kids say....

I believe they are telling their citizens that something is about to happen historic and all the members need to be there to work for the Iraqi people.......

Also,

This could just be about putting Maliki straight for once, there is a lot of talk that Maliki's days are numbered too....

As much as we all would like the historic to be a change in the rate it could be all about Maliki

But it does make me wonder......

Just an FYI: on the Iraqi Council of Representives Parliament website they list members names of those who do not attend as well the minutes from Parliment sessions and decisions and recommendations. It is a little confusing with the dates however, I believe the first date is the session date and the second date is when it is posted on parliaments website . This historic session being called will probably be all over the news instantly with the names of those absent .

Nice to know, cool but I wonder if they post these names more publicly like I think this article may be trying to point out. remember not as many folks have computers or electricity sometimes to even cruise the net much....

I do remember they did this to them before but said that they would post their names in the news papers...
