The government announced near the formation of a central committee headed by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to receive requests from countries and companies to implement major projects in Iraq in a manner payment on credit, and take appropriate decisions, in addition to coordination in this regard between the countries and companies on the one hand, ministries and provinces on the other.
Maliki said during a meeting mayors and heads of provincial councils, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs Dr. Saleh al-Mutlaq, and the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers on the Keywords, in addition to the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Torhan Mufti, Chairman of the National Investment Sami Araji: that there are new horizons to pay on credit were discussed with number of international companies, particularly Korean and Chinese, to overcome the difficulties that prevent the implementation of strategic projects in Baghdad and the provinces. "
The statement quoted Maliki's office with him said: "This meeting is being held today to coincide with discussions in the Council of Ministers on the general budget for the year 2012, so as to know and clarify many of the points to the provinces to take in the field of construction, reconstruction and investment and to identify common points that lead to positive results In this aspect, to move in the preparation of the budget. "
He added: "We've talked in previous meetings and events about the importance of the role of the provinces in the area of reconstruction, and today we stress to activate this role and increasing the powers of all the provinces."
The Prime Minister explained, "The provinces need a lot of facilities, and remove the complexities and problems that hinder or disrupt its work, and in turn we will provide the support required so it goes in its tasks properly."
He said al-Maliki: "We find today that many projects can be forwarded to the provinces, through increased coordination and cooperation between ministries, and raise their capacity to be worthy of this task", calling on local governments to move towards companies and the private sector and involve them in the process of building and construction and investment.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq said on everyone to work as one team, by increasing the prospects of cooperation between the provincial councils and ministries concerned, in order to reach agreements is to establish projects that provide job opportunities for youth and push the Iraqi economy toward greater strength and durability. In the same context , the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers on the Keywords in a statement singled out the "morning" after the meeting, the meeting focused on organizing the implementation of major projects in Baghdad and the provinces that will be implemented in a payment on credit, noting that the move came after receiving a large number of offers from countries and companies global implementation of such projects across the country.
He said the meeting was to organize the process to suit the financial resources generated and coordination between ministries and provinces to prevent the intersection between them in the management of project implementation.
