Twilight News / UN representative said Martin Kobler, Wednesday, that the United Nations stands by the demands of the demonstrators, noting that he had submitted their demands to the Iraqi government.
Martin Kobler said in a press conference held in Kirkuk and attended by "Twilight News" that "the UN stands by the demands of the demonstrators."
He explained, "We met the demonstrators in Kirkuk and Hawija and understanding their demands and presented them to the Iraqi government."
He added that "the role of the UN is the convergence of views between the protesters and the government and all parties in Iraq."
A local official in Kirkuk revealed, earlier Wednesday, said the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, met with representatives of the demonstrations in the province.
The source told "Twilight News", "Kobler met upon arrival governor of Kirkuk and discuss local elections there, and the protests taking place in some cities of the province."
He added that "Kobler met directly with representatives of these demonstrations, that he would meet personalities representing the components of the province at the time of the last."
