Parliamentary sources revealed that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Kurdish regional President Massoud Barzani held contacts during these days after a long and sharp differences between them. The source, who declined to be named, said a preliminary agreement was through negotiating team led by the Director of the Office of Al-Maliki and the Dawa party leader, Tariq star, that their relationship continues on its current form and no reconciliation until the next local elections. " The source said that "Maliki and Barzani fear the adverse effects on the results that we have announced the end of the crisis between them because it will push Sunni Arabs to unite and rally around their leaders fearing danger (the Kurdish-Shiite) which will sideline the role of Sunni Arabs", as he put it.
