CBI denies reports on the Governor's resignation

Baghdad (NINA) – Public Relations Bureau of the Central Bank of Iraq denied reports that Governor has resigned, the resignation the Bank's Acting Governor, Abdel Basset Turki.
Head of the Bank's Public Relations, Fadhil Jasim Humadi, told NINA on Thursday, Feb. 28, that report by some media outlets regarding the resignation of Acting Governor, Abdel Basset Turki, are untrue.
He added that such news aim to discourage the Bank from carrying on its task in a right way and to limit its ability in pursuing violators of banking rules and regulations.
Lawmaker from Iraqiya slate, Hayder al-Mulla, had said that the resigning of the Acting Governor, Abdel Basset Turki, will not release its current administration from the responsibilities of bad management and failures that have negatively reflected on the stability of the Dinar's rate of exchange.
Mulla told NINA that the Investigation Committee is going ahead with its works toward rectifying the Bank's works to instate the Dinar's stability and its rate of exchange.
He added that bringing professional people such as Mudher Mohammed Saleh would guarantees rectifying the performance of Central Bank of Iraq and put an end to the economic crisis caused by the government. / End.
