KDP, PUK support demonstrators' legitimate demands

Erbil (NINA) – Political bureaus of both the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) renewed their support to the legitimate and constitutional demands of the demonstrators.
The PUK web site reported that Kurdistan Region's President, Massoud Barazani, supervised a meeting of both parties, which was held in Erbil on Monday, March 4.
It added that the meeting discussed a number of issues, mainly President Barazani's visit to the Russian Federation and his meeting with President Vladimir Putin aimed to consolidate bilateral relations.
The meeting discussed also the works of major oil and gas companies, such as Gasprum that has a number of oil contracts in Kurdistan Region.
Among the issues discussed are the obstacles between the Region's and Federal governments and the necessity to implement Article 140, the issue of forming Dijla Operations Command, the Peshmerga Budget and the Oil and Gas Law.
The meeting stressed supporting Provincial Councils' elections in disputed areas and election mechanism in Kurdistan Region.
