Maliki, discusses situation in the area with Kerry during phone call

Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki receive a phone call from the US Secretary of State, John Kerry.

A statement issued on Monday, March 11, by the Prime Minister's Office said that in the call, the two discussed the relations between both countries and the on going developments in the area, as well as issues of common interest.

They also exchanged views on the situation in the area and means to face the challenges, mainly the challenge of terrorism and the ongoing events in Syria.

For his part, Maliki congratulated Kerry on his new post wishing him success and for the relations between the two countries more development.
