BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi Legislature, representing the Middle Alliance, Khalid al-Fahdawi, has called on the Iraqi government to intensify its security measures to protect citizens during the Muslims fasting month of Ramadan.
“Legislature Khalid al-Fahdawi has demanded the Iraqi government to strive to fortify its security measures, in order to protect citizens during their payment of their religious duties during the month of Ramadan and present best services for them,” his statement reported.
Fahdawi called on politicians “to leave behind their differences and to exploit the month of Ramadan for pardoning and unity of their word, in order to unite the Iraqi people and keep away from dividing them.”
The Sunni Waqf (Endowment) of Iraq and the Ministry of Endowment & Religious Affairs in Iraqi Kurdistan have announced on Saturday that Monday would be the first day of the Muslims fasting month of Ramadan.
