Iraqi political independent, does not belong to any party, holds a master's degree in sociology from the University of Baghdad in 1979, and holds a doctorate in social psychology from the United Kingdom in 1990, he joined the opposition to Saddam Hussein after the invasion of Kuwait, had been issued against him in absentia, sentenced to death for his participation in the coup attempt.
