Next month .. The opening of the Basra Gas Company

The Oil Ministry announced it will open Basra Gas Company in the first of April next,
The Director General of the Department of Legal Affairs in the Ministry of Oil Laith Shahir "the first of the month of April will be the date for the operation of the Basra Gas Company, which was completed recently created."
He pointed out that "this project will stop wasting natural gas associated with the extraction of crude oil in the fields of Rumaila, Zubair, Qurna in the province of Basra." Shahir said that "the oil ministry is keen to increase crude oil production this year and it is determined to comply with the approved budget for the daily export rate to three million barrels by the end of the year." He continued that "there are other projects will be implemented by the Ministry of oil within the budget this year, including oil pipeline project of the province of Basra to the Anbar province and then to Aqaba in Jordan, as well as a project to prepare the field of Nasiriyah,"
Preliminary estimates indicate that Iraq possessed stockpiles estimated 112 trillion cubic feet of gas, but the 700 million cubic feet of it burning day and wasted because of the lack of infrastructure investment.
