Shafaq News/A report issued by a European agency reads that the number of hungry people in Iraq reached up to two million people per day since 2003
A report issued by the European agency of Euronews and briefed by “Shafaq News” acknowledged that “after ten years of changing the regime, Iraq could not reduce the rate of hungry people per day”.
The Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation announced on June 2012, that governmental statistics indicate unemployment rate in Iraq reached up to 16%, while poverty level estimated around 11%.
Iraq suffers large unemployment among young people capable of working as well as university graduates, many economists believe that governmental statistics do not necessarily reflect the reality.
