BAGHDAD / obelisk: The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Martin Kobler to the good functioning of the special voting in provincial elections.
Kobler said the "special voting day marks the beginning of the voting process, he said, adding that the commission" showed a high level of professionalism in this first election organized under full Iraqi administration. "
"We now March members of the Iraqi security forces, the police and the military the right to vote, and all eyes focused on the election day on April 20."
A United Nations envoy urged security forces to ensure a free and secure environment for the elections.
"It is important that the voter turn out in an orderly and safe environment free of violence, threats and intimidation."
