Baghdad (NINA) – The meeting of political blocs’ leaders has started on Tuesday evening, Aug. 2, with the attendance of President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Speaker of Parliament Usama al-Nijaifi.
Informed source told NINA, “The meeting’s contents will be made public in a press conference after the meeting.”
The sources pointed out that among important issues to be discussed in the meeting are the issue of security ministries, which will be the first to be discussed, being the easiest in comparison with other disputed issues between Iraqiya and State of Law; the strongest nominee for the post of Minister of Defence is Abdul Kareem al-Samara’e, Minister of Science and Technology.
He added, “The issue concerning whether American forces remain or withdraw will be discussed, in addition to implementing the clauses of Erbil Agreement, such as the National Council for Strategic Polices, assigned to the leader of Iraqiya Slate, Iyad Allawi.” / End.
