Breaking News ... KRG to hold presidential, legislative elections on 21st of September

Erbil (AIN) –The Kurdistani Regional Government announced that the due time for holding the presidential and legislative elections in Kurdistan Region will be on the 21st of September 2013.
A statement by the KRG received by AIN cited “The president of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, decided to hold the presidential and legislative elections on the 21st of September, calling the special sides to start the preparations for holding it and stressing that no political side is allowed to interfere in the elections or the voting process.”
The statement quoted Barzani, as saying “We decided that after receiving the reply from the Independent High Electoral Commission over a letter that we sent to it,” noting that “The IHEC expressed its readiness to hold the elections from any date starting from the 2nd of September till the 5th of October.”
