Kurdish lawmaker: Law allows to Barzani nominate himself for the presidency of the region for another term

MP for the Kurdistan Alliance, Sheriff Soliman that the law allows the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani run again for the presidency of the region.
He said in a statement to the Euphrates News Agency {} that "the law stipulates that any person who is nominated has the right to run for two consecutive terms by direct secret ballot."

The Kurdish opposition has announced the lack of legitimacy of the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, the nomination for the third time.
The MP said the Kurdistan Islamic Union Uzair maintained that the question of choice or nominate someone for the presidency of the Kurdistan region instead of Massoud Barzani is on the table now, and according to the Constitution of Kurdistan, he is not entitled to the nomination for the presidency of the region for the third time.
He said the "Kurdish opposition did not nominate anyone so far for the position has not yet decided on who will succeed Barzani."
