Hadi said in a press statement: "the Customs General Authority procedures not applicable at all border crossing points, particularly in Kurdistan, this is unfair to some importers subject to procedures and delayed entry of goods and other northern ports passed without complications". He added: "you must apply customs duties on goods imported within cities through the opening of offices for General Customs authority in Baghdad (Abu Ghraib), Basra and Kirkuk, to subject all imported goods procedures as well as reduce the accumulation of goods at border crossing points." He noted: "this action would eliminate financial corruption and bribery in the ports, in addition to the time of the entry of goods and flow to the country."
