Zubaidi, Japanese Ambassador for Iraq discuss Japan’s loan to Iraq

<p style="text-align: left; unicode-bidi: embed; direction: ltr;" class="MsoNormal">Bahdad (IraqiNews.com) -The head of the parliament Citizen bloc and former minister of Finance, Baqir al-Zubaidi, discussed with the Japanese Ambassador for Iraq, the Japanese loan to Iraq.
A statement by the bloc cited on Thursday “Zubaidi discussed with the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, and his accompanying delegation, the situation in Iraq and enhancement of the mutual cooperation between both countries.”
“The two sides also discussed details of the Japanese loan presented to Iraq and the implementation rate of the projects covered by the loan which was signed by Zubaidi with the Japanese side while he was Minister for Finance,” the statement added.
“Zubaidi is following up this file in order to be approved by the parliament,” according to the statement which noted “The projects covered by the loan are associated to infrastructures, potable water, electricity and ports,” the statement stressed.
“The value of the loan is $ 3 billion and the government should pay it back 40 years later at benefit of 0,4%,” it pointed out
“Both parties discussed the current situation in Iraq and the ramification of the protests crisis in Anbar, Mosul and Hawija,” the statement concluded.
