Basra signs contract with China to build about 2000 residential units

Shafaq News / The local government in Basra province has referred on Tuesday, a residential project named as the “Golden City” to Hong Kong Chinese company to build 1992 housing units.
“The duration of the project will be three years, with a capital of 249690000 dollars,” The director of Mister Wang Company said in a press conference held during the signing ceremony at Sayyab Hall at Manawi Basha and attended by “Shafaq News”.
For his part, Governor of Basra, Khalaf Abdul Samad, who attended the signing ceremony, said that “the land space is nearly 600,000 square meters, while the total construction area of the residential units is 329000 acres and 1,900 square meters”.
Housing crisis in Basra worsened since the mid-nineties so much in the past few years as a result of population growth and escalating immigration from the other southern provinces.
