British Consulate in the Kurdistan Region, on Monday, said the British government is preparing to hold an economic conference extended for the period between 10-12 of this month of June in Arbil with the participation of about 100 British companies in cooperation with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
He said the British Consul in Erbil Hugh Avins in a press conference that "the British government will take part in a conference organized by the Mead Corporation, a British institution working in the field of money and business."
And that "the participation of the British government comes after the province's economy witnessed significant growth and reach an annual growth rate of more than 10%, and we hope to cooperate with the provincial government to support the economy and development of Kurdistan."
Avins pointed out that "the conference will be attended by a number of provincial government ministers, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Investment Authority, in addition to the Foreign Relations Department of the provincial government."
He said, "We hope that this conference leads a major role in strengthening economic relations between Britain and the Kurdistan Region."
British Consul explained that "more than a hundred British companies will participate in the conference, which will highlight the fields of industry, construction and investment."
He also said, "We encourage medium-sized companies in Britain to come to the region during this conference will focus on investment and the definition of the world."
