Government of Kurdistan Region welcomes Maliki's visit, holding Cabinet meeting in Erbil

Baghdad (NINA) – The Government of Kurdistan Region welcomed the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's visit to the Region.
A statement issued on Wednesday, June 5, by the Region's Government, quoted its Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani, saying, "On behalf of Kurdistan Region's Government and on my behalf, we welcome the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to the Region, and holding a meeting for the Federal Cabinet in Erbil, as well as holding political talks between the two sides."
Nechirvan Barzani expressed wishes that the initiative would be fruitful and a good start toward solving outsanding issues, as well as consolidate relations between the Central and Regional governments.
Earlier, Media Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ali al-Musawi, said that the Cabinet will hold its upcoming meeting, on Sunday, in Erbil and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will chair a joint meeting of the Federal and Regional governments to discuss issues of common interests. / End.
