Kubler: the federal government's visit to Arbil will be reflected positively on the political process

Welcomed the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Martin Kobler, the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and members of his cabinet to Erbil to meet with the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Massoud Barzani, head of the provincial government Barzani, in addition to a number of officials.
Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and members of his government have arrived in Arbil on Sunday morning for a meeting of the Council of Ministers there and meet with leaders of the region to discuss the outstanding problems between the federal government and the provincial government.
The head of UNAMI, Martin Kobler said in a statement received by the agency all of Iraq [where] a copy of "This visit is a positive step in the right direction as it will be reflected positively on the political process."
Kobler expressed hope of success "for discussions between the delegations of the two governments to resolve all outstanding issues between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, which is in the interest of the Iraqi people."
The Federal Cabinet held a regular meeting in Arbil and has issued several resolutions.
