Iraq says it will have 50 civilian aircraft end of 2014

Twilight News / Airways said the state-owned Iraqi Thursday that the number of civil aircraft will reach 50 by the end of 2014 as part of efforts to restore life to the air fleet destroyed by war and siege.

Khafaji praised his government's efforts to resolve the case file of Iraqi Airways with the State of Kuwait, which was prosecute the company.
The dispute over the airline was part of a large-scale conflict on the billions of dollars in damages dating back to the days of Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990-1991, when his forces captured several planes.
The two sides reached in March 2012 to push Iraq agreement whereby the Kuwait $ 300 million in cash and invest $ 200 million in a joint aviation project opposite Kuwait to withdraw lawsuits against Iraqi Airways.
Khafaji said Iraqi Airways was just like any other enterprises and government departments to damage of the policies of the former regime and the need to replay a great effort and support.
He added that the company now has lines of flight toward Cairo, Beirut, Amman, Kuwait, Jeddah, Manama, Dubai and Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Istanbul, Ankara, Delhi, Mumbai and Frankfurt, Copenhagen and Malmo, London.
He said that the company will open new lines in the next few days.
