Hakeem calls for activating Parliament’s monitoring role

Baghdad (NINA) – Leader of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Ammar al-Hakeem, called to activate Parliament’s monitoring role being the country’s largest monitoring authority.
A statement issued on Tuesday, Aug. 9, by the SIIC said that in his meeting with law maker from the National Alliance, Sherwan al-Wa’eli, Hakeem stressed that Parliament’s Integrity Committee is an important committee within Parliament; its monitoring role must be activated.
In the meeting the two also discussed latest developments in Iraq and the region.
