Accused the deputy of the National Alliance for the province of Basra, on Tuesday, the central government that it is working to keep the province's economy is weak and late, through non-payment of funds for its projects, stressing that the people will carry out a conservative sit-in protest at delays in the disbursement of funds.
The MP said the province of Basra, Amer Al-Fayez said in an interview for "Alsumaria News", "Operation not release funds for projects intended to maintain, and aims to keep the economy of Basra late and weak."
The Fayez that "there are flaws in the implementation of projects in the province for several reasons, most important of non-payment of the amounts allocated to projects approved by the Board of Basra, about building infrastructure and reconstruction of the province," pointing out that "there is the budget earmarked for these projects, but because of red tape between the Ministries of Planning and Finance did not release this money so far. "
The MP for the National Alliance, that "there are correspondences are many and several books have been forwarded to the Ministry of Finance and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers for the disbursement of funds to no avail," explaining "it reached during the past eight months to the province of Basra, a little money too, according to figures from the Ministry of Finance failed to implement conservation only 2.10% of its budget. "
Fayez stressed that "the visual will not remain silent about this, and will implement a massive sit-in during the next few days, if the central government did not respond and you spend this money."
The governor of Basra, Khalaf Abd al-Samad, said on 4 August evening, said the local government will organize a sit-open after the end of Ramadan in protest against the delayed payment of the budget of the province, as called for activating the administrative decentralization until the turn the province into the territory, accused the Ministry of Finance as to deal with Basra, as if begging them.
The province of Basra, about 590 km south of Baghdad, had occurred during the current year as a result of the application of the (petro) for the second consecutive year the largest budget in history was trillion and 130 billion dinars, in addition to 688 billion dinars have been recycled from the previous year's budget.
The central government allocated 300 billion dinars for the implementation of projects related to host Gulf Cup digital version of the 21 to be set up in the province in 2013.
