Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki stressed the necessity to continue coordination and cooperation between Iraq and the United State, especially in light of unstable situation the area in going through.
A statement issued on Wednesday, Aug. 14, by the Prime Minister's Office quoted Maliki during a meeting with an American delegation, headed by Senator, Bob Corker, calling for extensive international efforts to reach a political solution to the aggravated situation in Syria.
For his part, Senator Crocker stressed the importance to develop relations with Iraq, especially in the field of combating terrorism and security cooperation; expressing the necessity to get acquainted with Iraq's views on various issues and Iraq's views in the interest of the area.
He stressed that the two countries' views on most of the area's issues are close, especially concerning the Syrian crisis. / End.
