Iraq launches initiative to resolve the crisis in Syria

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 04 / SEPTEMBER 2013

Twilight News / announced by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Wednesday, announced the launch of an initiative to resolve the Syrian crisis politically and through dialogue, and reiterated his warning of any military action targeting the Syrian state.

alt Maliki said in a televised speech on the Syrian crisis and pursued "Twilight News", that he "had previously put forward an initiative to resolve the Syrian crisis, and assure them a new guise, and must call for cease-fire and stop the supply of any party, whether regime or the opposition with money and weapons."

Maliki called in accordance with the initiative to "any withdrawal Agni on Syrian territory, and support for an impartial investigation on the use of chemical weapons, and rejection of foreign interference in Syrian affairs and any military operation targeting the Syrian state."

Maliki stressed "the obligation not to use the Arab territories in Syria hit, and the launch of an Arab fund to support the return of refugees, and compel the regime and the opposition to a timetable for elections in Syria."

He stressed, "We must adopt the mechanism of the international community and the Arab League in the formation of an interim government be satisfactory from the regime and the opposition and then hold elections and say the funds will be governor," warning of a military strike on Syria.
