Iraq and Brazil discuss Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization
And discussed with the Iraqi Ministry of Commerce and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs efforts made by Iraq in its quest to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) for having a full membership.
A statement from the Office of Media Department of Commerce received the (Euphrates) a copy of today that “the Director General of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations at the Ministry of Commerce Chairman of the Iraqi delegation participating in the training session held in the Brazilian capital and private members of the National Committee to join the World Trade Organization Hashim Mohammed Hatem met on Sunday with the advisor to the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is responsible for the file, Middle East and Africa. “
He added, “During the meeting, they discussed the most important issues involved in the development of relations between Iraq and Brazil on all levels, especially the efforts of Iraq in its quest to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) for having a full membership.“
And across the Hatem for “pleased to do the Brazilian side to organize this session for members of the National Committee for the purpose of access to the Brazilian experience to join the World Trade Organization and the challenges that accompanied the two to join in order to benefit from this experience and the possibility overcome obstacles facing Iraq in joining.”
For his part, welcomed the adviser to the Brazilian Foreign Ministry to visit the Iraqi delegation represented by “members of the National Committee to Brazil, stressing the support of the Brazilian government of Iraq and his tireless efforts to join the World Trade Organization and full readiness to provide all kinds of technical support and consultation required by the National Committee members to facilitate the completion of your files to join” .
It is worth mentioning that 20 members of the National Commission on Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization participated in a specialized training course in the World Trade Organization and the experience of Brazil to join them, which was held in the capital, Brasilia.

According to a statement by the Ministry received (News Agency) the Director General of the Department of external economic relations of the Ministry of Commerce Hashim Mohammed Hatem, head of the Iraqi delegation met course participant in the Brazilian capital, members of the National Committee on accession to the World Trade Organization, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry adviser and Chief of the Middle East and Africa.
He said he discussed the most important issues on the development of relations between Iraq and Brazil at all levels and the efforts made by Iraq in its quest to join the World Trade Organization to obtain full membership.
The statement added: the Director General of the foreign economic relations Department of the Ministry of Commerce expressed satisfaction with the Brazilian side to organize this session for members of the National Committee for the purpose of the Brazilian experience in joining the World Trade Organization and the challenges that accompany a join to take advantage of this experience and the ability to bypass the obstacles facing Iraq on accession.
Part of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry adviser welcomed the visit of the Iraqi delegation, represented by members of the National Committee to Brazil, said the Brazilian Government’s support for Iraq and his tireless efforts to join the World Trade Organization and the willingness to provide all kinds of technical and consultative support needed by National Committee members to facilitate the achievement of specific files.
