US Announces 2014 Fulbright Scholarships

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad is pleased to announce the open application period for the 2014 Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program. In support of the U.S.–Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement, this program will provide 35 Iraqi scholars the opportunity to spend 10 weeks at a U.S. university for faculty development, mentoring, and cultural exchange activities.

The application process is a merit-based competition open to full-time junior Iraqi university faculty who clearly indicate a commitment to classroom teaching and a desire to strengthen their teaching and leadership skills. This program is not intended to provide a venue for individual research projects.

Applicants must demonstrate fluency in spoken and written English and have a focus in one of the following fields of study: Science and Technology, English Teaching/Linguistics, Engineering, or American Literature.
