MP describes corruption as one of major barriers hinder ratification Iraq's budget
Baghdad (Forat) Abdul Hussein al-Yasiri, member of parliamentary Finance Committee, said financial corruption is one of the major barriers that hinder ratification Iraq's 2014 federal general budget in parliament.
Yasiri stated to Alforat News Agency on Sunday " Iraq's 2014 budget is the largest ever,as it includes investment, and operating aspects".
" The delay in budget approving would negatively affect Iraqi economy", he added.
As for corruption, and its impact on the budget, Yasiri said " In the past , the Financial Control Divan was the only responsible for auditing budget, but now the situation has been changed, where we have several institutions to monitor the budget like Parliament, Commission of Integrity and others".
" All of these sides are involved in monitoring the budget, in order to keeping it far from corruption", Yasiri concluded./End/
